First Week In Tullahoma

Wednesday September 8th: Today was hectic to say the least. The Franklin Elders, Elder Baker, and I went golfing for the last time this morning and that was by far the most relaxing time of the day but even then we were being pushed by the people playing behind us so kind of stressful. Then we came home and i had to pack, write thank you letters to members, and get showered and ready for transfers. Needless to say I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. We did make it though and it was really good. I participated a lot in the meeting and got Elder Johansen from Layton, UT. He's super cool, we'll have a good time together. We chatted and got to know eachother on the way home and the apartment is pretty nice too! We live in a quad with Elder Navarro (my zone leader companion) and his son Elder Allred who started his mission last transfer. I'm pumped!

Thursday: Today we had a 2 hour long training meeting in the morning. Then we went to Walmart to get some stuff and found a guy named Steven on the bench out front, we shared a few principles and got to know him and set up a time to talk at his home later on, cool experience! We came home and met Brother Lynn he's a super big member missionary and is always with the missionaires haha. He reminds me of David Goodman from my first area. Then we did some comp study and finding and went to dinner at Buffalo wild wings with Brother Brown who was baptized a little over a year ago by my good friend Elder Kohler. We finished off the night in a projects neighborhood talking to a ton of people and we taught a few lessons and set some return appointments it was a good start! Lastly we came home and did some technology finding again and found a really cool kid named Brett on the phone, we taught the restoration and it was powerful. I had leadership meetings until bed, I am still trying to settle in haha.

Friday: Today was a good day! We had another training call this morning introducing us to the senior missionaries, then we had a lesson with Addie on the phone who we met yesterday when we were in that neighborhood! She read from 3 Nephi 11 to Mormon and she said it was amazing! We taught the restoration and she accepted a baptismal date of October 9th! Super exciting! We had lunch then had weekly planning and comp study. We had dinner at the Hernandez home and they are recent converts and are an amazing family. We went to a neighborhood after and talked to a few more people, Robert, Roger, and Blake. They were all good guys! Blake was was really cool, Roger wasn't super interested, and Robert accepted a Book of Mormon even though he told us he is stuck in his ways I know the Spirit can change people, so hopefully he reads and prays. Had a miracle cold calling where no one was picking up so I skipped 5000 numbers and the first number I called was some named Jamie who said it was a sign from God, really cool. Lots of big things happening here.

Saturday: Today was super good, we had an amazing lesson with Amanda and Urlaick this afternoon teaching the restoration and it went really well! We then had a lesson over video call with the girl named Anna and that went pretty good, followed by a lesson with Jamie which went awesome too and we set a time for the Manchester sisters to drop him off a Book of Mormon! We went out to eat with Brother Lynn after helping him with few chores and he is a great guy, really love the dude! Then into the night we did a lot of finding and had a good lesson with a lady named Janelle on the restoration followed by some good contacts getting to know all the people the elders before we teaching!

Sunday: Before church today we went to go knock and remind a few people about church and found a couple cool people in the process but one of the people we knocked on had these 2 pitbulls and they came out after us jumping and nipping. It ended up being a really cool experience because neither I or Elder Johansen were nervous and they didn't bite either one of us. There was no reason they shouldn't have! I know we were protected by the Lord, so that was sweet. We didn't have anyone at church sadly even though 5 people committed, but it was a good service and we got to know a lot of people there! We did a lot of finding in the afternoon, found out we don't have th best idea on how to cook Salmon, I remembered I don't like salmon anyway, we set a return appointment with Anna from yesterday, found a guy named Jack on Facebook who thinks God and Jesus Christ are aliens, but was interested in a Book of Mormon, and had a cool lesson with a lady name Julia on the restoration! Elder Bednar's devotional was really good as well if you missed it you should go check it out!

Monday: Today was awesome! Had a great district council then got Chick fil a! Headed to Altamont for an exchange with Elder Rammell. He's a really cool guy from Montana! We had a good time working. We did a lot of Facebook and cold calling and even had the opportunity to have a super awesome lesson with this guy named Roy who said he needed the Holy Ghost and accepted a date for baptism! Also had a great lesson with a girl named Veronica they have on date and we went over some of the baptismal questions, she seems awesome and super ready!! Lastly we had a lesson with a guy named Tyler who we had an interesting cold call lesson with, a little little over the place, but he was down for more so that was hype!!

Tuesday: This morning we went and did a sick hike for exercise time, saw an amazing waterfall!! Had two amazing lessons on the restoration one with Brandon who is a Law Enforcement Officer and we actually dropped a Book of Mormon off to him later that night! Really cool, nice guy, but he'll definitely need a spiritual witness to pursue any further, he was skeptical and you could tell through his kindness. The other was Earl who was definitely interesting, but good! He said we could come by later this week, so they'll do that I'm sure! Then we had a lesson with their recent convert Trevor talking about the gospel of Jesus Christ. He's a really awesome kid, he even stayed after for our lesson lesson Austin over the phone! Austin was really cool and interested after the restoration and Trevor bore powerful testimony on the Book of Mormon, so that was hype! Lastly, we had a lesson with this girl named Carla and went over the restoration again and that went great too, definitely a good day! Oh BTW, they have a Tacoma here and I was able to drive that the whole time, and DANG was that nice.
