We attemped to put together an Umbrella and Gazebo with no instructions
Wednesday July 21st: Pday was so awesome today! We went up to bowling green with the elders from Madison along with the rest of our district and had a super good time. We played volleyball, went bowling, got ice cream and went and saw the fork in the road!! We came home and had a goodnight, we had coordination meeting as always and then found the rest of the night calling people and doing Facebook! Good day.
Thursday: Today was pretty basic, just a lot of finding, we did go to Franklin though to get a couple prescriptions from Walmart for my skin and we were supposed to have a dinner with members but they rescheduled for the actual dinner tomorrow and just brought us Tuna sandwiches. We did have a lesson with Frank and Diana though and the Calverts were able to come with us! We had a really hard time thinking of what to teach them only because there's nothing really pressing that they have shown interest in or want to know, but we were able to decide on reading from the Book of Mormon and talking. That's exactly what we did and it went pretty well! Diana gave a half commitment to church, but she doesn't know her schedule yet for work, and Frank said he'll definitely be working. After we left the Calverts stayed and chatted for awhile though! So that should be good for Diana and Frank.
Friday: Today was pretty good, we had weekly planning and zone council in the morning. In the afternoon we went and taught Cameron a simple restoration and that went awesome. We also stopped by Cathy's and she invited us in so we shared a good little thought with her! We went to dinner at the Roach's and that was super fun, I love them. On the way home we called this lady named Gail and shared the restoration with her very briefly she didn't listen hardly at all and then started talking to someone else right at the end and just like set her phone down so we had to just hang up haha, super lame, but I guess we'll see if she learned anything next time we call. Other than that we just found the rest of the night.
Saturday: Today we attempted to go have a lesson with Sue and Teresa from last week, but that fell through because Teresa had never talked to us and Sue probably didn't remember nor tell anyone else. However, we did set something more solid set up with Teresa for next week so hopefully that goes through! After that we just found in the car for a bit until lunch. Then we had a lesson with Kenny in the afternoon just reading the Book of Mormon that was good, he's awesome, we just really want to help him develop a stronger testimony. We also taught the Sundwall's boy again after eating some salmon at their house with their family! That was fun and that pretty much wraps up the day!
Sunday: Today was super good. We had good time at church and Cameron came again! He's becoming a lot more consistent and he even reached out and got his own ride from a member all by himself! Super sweet. We went on a blitz exchange with Franklin and I worked with Elder Pace, we always work really well together. We went street contacting and talked to a ton of people! We found this guy named David and set an appointment up for him next week! Talked to this lady named Freda about doing the stop smoking workshop! Set up a lesson with an inactive family for next week. Found this amazing lady named Betty who accepted an invitation to be baptized after hearing the restoration. As well as a lady named Chermane who was so sweet who was also super interested in learning more after the restoration. Really productive day! We did some finding during the evening end finished out with the missionwide devo. It was departing testimonies tonight, this was a big one, a lot of my friends are leaving this transfer, sad stuff, the work goes on though!
Monday: Today we had district council! That went super awesome then we all got some food and met back at the church for lunch and had a good time talking! We stayed on exchanges with Franklin for another day because we have literally no miles so we are chilling here because we have a member dinner tomorrow so it's the most logistical thing to do. Today Elder Pace and I went and taught this lady named Catherine she was super kind, she was definitely a "yes" lady, as in she said yes to everything whether or not she understood it, but she seemed really kind so for what it's worth it went well. Then Elder Pace felt inspired to knock this one door so we did and she was Spanish, Elder Pace is assigned to Chile and he's already super good at Spanish so we had a lesson and I sat there and they talked lol. During the evening we attempted to visit a few more people but they both turned us away and that was pretty much it for the day! We did make a super funny video for a zone call though haha.
Tuesday: Today we did a service project and we put together an umbrella and gazebo with no instructions! I was impressed we did it and it looked good too! We did some finding in the afternoon then had dinner with Candice and Aria at their house and that was fun! We came home did some finding and that wrapped up the day! We got transfer news though and.... I'll be staying in Portland for another one with Elder Baker, same companion. It'll be good!
