Ribs, Pizza, Strawberry Festival

Wednesday May 5th: Today was sweet!! Went to Hendersonville to play some soccer in the morning then got some Subway followed by more pool to wrap up pday! For the work side of things, as always we had a good coordination meeting, and a good lesson with Josh and another lesson with Danny! It was a good productive night!! Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Thur: Today we went to go see Cameron in the morning at food lion and had a good little conversation! We set up a time for tomorrow to go to his house and meet him and his family, it should be good! Other than that we did a lot of finding! We went to Walmart and did our shopping during dinner, and then ate dinner with the Franklin Elders. On the way home we stopped and dropped off a Book of Mormon to a guy some sisters in Nashville found! He was pretty cool and he said he and his mom would be at church this Sunday!! We headed home and once again finished out the night finding!!

Fri: We did our weekly planning this morning and then headed to Portland Pizza and Pub with some members and let me tell you that was some of THE BEST pizza I've ever had, it was so good. We had a Nashville hot chicken pizza, pepperoni, and a BBQ! The BBQ had pulled pork layered underneath the cheese though, it was incredible. We did some more finding in the afternoon, then went and played basketball with some friends for dinner because they invited us and then went from there directly to Cameron's house to meet his family and turns out they weren't home lol Cameron was though and we had a great lesson with him reading the introduction to the Book of Mormon and talking about the Gospel. He accepted a baptismal date of June 5th and we are really excited for him! Finished the night off finding after that!

Sat: Today we had 3 lessons with members coming to help all lined up and all the investigators canceled/didn't answer... super lame. However, one of those members took us out to a steak house instead and it was aweome, so that was definitely a plus!! We went to the strawberry festival (huge deal here in Portland) after that and there was like 100,000+ people there and hardly anyone wore a mask, it was nice to feel normal again and we got the chance to talk to a few real nice people but nothing serious sadly! We went to visit a friend on the way home and we got to chat with her for a bit then play ball with these kids named Zion and Zach afterwards in the parking lot which was fun! We came home and made a few contacts to wrap up the day!

Sun: Had a decent church service the guy we dropped the Book of Mormon off to (Austin) canceled on us to go to another church, and the other lady we planned on coming had to go take care of her grandfather, so we had 2 people attend virtually which was good because the second speaker decided to give a college feminist debate speech instead of a church talk, our friend who attended virtually has been being taught for months now and watches church virtually almost every week and he told us afterwards this was the first church service that pulled him backwards, so that's just awesome!! (Not) We came home did some finding had a leadership meeting/call, then had dinner followed by some more finding and a trip to see a lady named Judith who requested us to come visit online. We got there and she's a very sweet old lady who wants to contribute help, donations to our church but she said we could teach her also so we set up a time to come back and we'll see how that goes!! Lastly we had our weekly mission devotional as always!

Mon: Today we had a good district council then headed to a restaurant to eat with the district and the zone leaders. Elded Myers and I went on exchanges with the zone leaders after so I headed down to Goodlettsville with Elder Holland! We did some finding in the afternoon then headed to the church and played some ball for dinner, then we had a night full of finding at the church afterwards too.

Tue: Today was pretty fun actually! We did some service for bishop storehouse in the morning then we went to Ashland City and did some more service for an elderly couple who were in a bad car accident back in November. We laid 27 bags of mulch and got their flower beds looking pretty good by the time we left! They gave us lunch and were very kind, but he is a successful pastor, and definitely wasn't interested in learning, but he said he would convert us... lol pretty comical guy. Then we went and tried to have another lesson with a lady and a member but she was at work so we visited a inactive and she did not want us there, she was very rude and wouldn't even give us her number to call back later... so we headed home. When we got back in town we went to the church and watched the restoration movie with Alex, it was super spiritual, but to be honest he just isn't prepared right now, we invited him heavily to be baptized and he accepted, but you could tell he just isn't really looking for anything right now. We went home and had dinner and did a little bit of finding to finish the night. Elder Scott and Elder Myers came down and are sleeping here so we can all go play some basketball tomorrow!!
