Rejection at its finest!
Disclaimer: this week's entries came together in a total of 15 minutes, just a heads up!! :)) thanks for reading!!
Wednesday January 15th: Today was sweet! We went and did a sweet hike at Dunbar cave and then got panda and krispy kreme. We went to a park and played pickle ball and tennis and then came home and talked to family. Later we went to Walmart and washed the car for zone conference tomorrow. We did some finding and taught a guy named Alex and a guy named Robert, cool dudes! Both lessons were on the restoration!!
Thursday: Today was awesome!! We had zone conference in Kentucky and it was good as usual. I had my interview with President and I will most likely be staying in this area for one more transfer but who knows!! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings after and had a sweet time there with the district! We had some lessons but the only one really worth mentioning was with a dude named Kiki, super hype kid! It was on the restoration and he liked it so hopefully the Elders in his area can get in touch with him tomorrow!!
Friday: Ahh weekly planning gotta love it! Other than that we dropped a Book of Mormon off in the morning to Robert from the other day and then had a lesson with a guy named Ron. It was super interesting hopefully it will go somewhere for the Elders in his area. He seemed like he pretty much lost all faith, so the Elders will have to pray for a miracle! Then had a lesson with a guy named Dom at night followed by a zone call! Not a bad day!
Saturday: We watched a mission devotional in the morning, did finding all afternoon, then had an incredible lesson with a guy named James. He is the sweetest dude ever and honestly had just such a happy spirit. We invited him to church after sharing the restoration and he wasn't super committed to it but we got him to say he'd try. Honestly though, with how kind he was, he was a blessing after a day of much rejection.
Sunday: Had a great time at church! Had a great lesson with guy named Mckinney on the restoration and he was honestly super cool. He apparently already has a Book of Mormon so he said he'll find it and read it some more!! Had the worst lesson ever with a lady named Samantha that the sisters were trying to pass of to us. She started out the lesson by saying "If y'all are trying to convert me you are wasting your time" We should just walked out then. The lesson was pointless and didn't go anywhere. She is very hard headed and I know that doesn't sound very kind of me to say but it was an hour lesson on the same exact topic and she just wouldn't budge and it was such a waste of time. We had the gospel study class followed by a night of finding with our only lesson coming from a guy named James. It was a different lesson but it went pretty good. He was super skeptical about the Book of Mormon but the Hermanas are going to drop one off to him tomorrow so hopefully it goes somewhere for them. The night ended with the missionwide devotional as always on Sunday!
Monday: Had a super great district council followed by a great lesson with Melissa all about the priesthood and we got her back on date for this Saturday!! Had a ton of lessons tonight. We read a chapter of the Book of Mormon with Garret, had an interesting lesson with a guy named Polowca who was the husband of a lady named Ruth who we thought would answer. Had a confusing lesson with a lady named Shantieka who is apparently already being taught, but it took half the lesson to figure that out lol! We finished off with a leadership call and then a lesson with guy named Travis who we taught the restoration to and he agreed with everything but Joseph Smith. He has heard too many rumors. We invited him to pray about it and hopefully God can help him overcome that.
Tuesday: We went over to Melissa's this morning and blessed her house, very interesting but good lol. Then we did a lot of finding in the afternoon and had a great lesson with a lady named Kathryn! We had to send her off because she not in our area, surprise, surprise! The one downside of calling random numbers lol. Then we had a gospel study class again on the atonement and it was really good and we finished out the night teaching a guy named Jeremiah who just seems so prepared and was so cool. So hopefully we can get him that Book of Mormon, he wants one soon. We have faced a lot of negativity and bashing lately and it has been hard! I just try my hardest to focus on Jesus Christ and know that this is the Lord's work and I am to please Him and no one else. It was never easy for Jesus and of course nothing I go through even comes close to what He went through but why should it be easy for me to teach people His gospel? Matthew 5:10 is definitely the scripture for this week. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
I didn't send my mom any pictures to post so she just uploaded a few from her phone. I think next week I better send at least one picture;)
I just loved Elder LaPray's comment here and wanted to save it for his book:)
