First Christmas on the Mish!
Wednesday December 16th: Today was good! Spent the day pretty much talking to family. We went to the church parking lot (because we can't go inside) as a district for only 20 mins because the sisters got cold and wanted to leave. Then we went and got our shopping done and that was it. We just did a lot of finding throughout the night, nothing too crazy. Then we had a zone call at 9 and we were all in pj's and funny outfits, check the below zoom pic.
Thursday: Today was awesome!! We had our Christmas party zone conference down in Franklin right by the temple! It was missionwide so it was so good to see some people I hadn't seen in a really long time. Also! David Archuleta sang and it was super good. The zone conference was awesome too, but there's nothing to report that yall would really understand haha. We picked up panda and drove home. Later we had a really good lesson on the phone with a random lady who was just super mega down for everything and we ended up putting her on date!! Sadly she's not in our area though! But it was a great lesson and day.
Friday: Today was super long, but a pretty good day. We were supposed to have a lesson with Melissa in the morning, but she didn't answer the door when her fellowshippers came and knocked to pick her up so the fellowshippers (Wheeler's) came to the church to see if she was there and we were but she wasn't... we waited for a little while and ended up just having a spiritual thought with the Wheelers, it was good. Then we had a lesson with Chris after lunch and that was awesome too! He is killing it, reading the Book of Mormon, comprehending it, he's awesome! We came home and did comp study, Elder Eccles has another translator lesson with his old comps from Nashville, and then Melissa finally called back and we told her we could come drop off a large print Book of Mormon because she couldn't read her other one. She gave us the wrong address and we drove forever trying to find her but finally did, and just gave it to her and headed out. After we got home we had a companion call with the Sango Sisters, followed by dinner, and a night of finding. We had a lot of rejection but talked to one guy named Gavin who lives in Colorado. He seems cool, so hopefully we can get him hooked up with the missionaires near him. Oh, we had a zone call too, to end the day, the spirit was super strong, it was one of the best ones.
Saturday: Another one of those days where there's not too much to report on. We did weekly planning in the morning and then we had a lesson with a guy named Isiah. We taught him about prophets and Jesus Christ's earthly ministry, then referred him down to the missionaries in Texas where he's living. We did comp study, did some finding, oh and then we did more finding until the night was over! Not too bad of a day but nothing special!
Sunday: Today was good! We had a good correlation meeting before church and then had an awesome Sacrament meeting! We had 4 people there! We had a lesson directly after with Chris (the one on date to be baptized) and it went great! We got a member there and went over some commandments and Chris committed to living all of them. Later we had a really interesting "lesson" with a guy named Wynn, man is sitting on 1.5 billion dollar company and has a super nice house out in the country, we went out there because he invited us and he basically just talked to us for 30 mins. We tried to teach him some things but he wasn't about it lol, I don't think he (in his head) needs anything else/more in his life right now, but he was a super cool guy! We had our gospel study class, then did finding the rest of the night and taught a few short lessons to people who allowed us to! We finished off with a missionwide devotional and it was super inspiring, the whole mission set a lot higher goals this week so hopefully we can go forth, united, in the strength of the Lord to accomplish those goals!
Monday: Today was awesome too! We had a great district council in the morning. We talked a lot about our goals from the previous week and how this week we all have some pretty high goals so we are going to need to work hard! We talked a lot about inviting people to be baptized as well, that's what I gave the training on. We had chick fil a with the sisters in the parking lot afterwards and then the afternoon just consisted of a lot of finding with a lot of rejection. At night though we went caroling at a really cool Christmas light walkway by the river! We passed out like 20-30 book of mormons and probably 100 pass along cards! It was sweet! We came home and had a leadership call and then we passed out!
Tuesday: Today was good! We had an awesome lesson in the morning with Chris. We just finishing off the rest of the commandments! We moved his date to this Sunday and we are super pumped for that!! We had a great lesson with Katie! She taught us the whole restoration! Completely killed it, it was amazing!! We all shared some really cool thoughts about it and it was sweet! Brother Merrill helped us out with both of those lessons, he's a stud! The rest of the day all we did was find but we had 3 more lessons from people who were interested! So that was good! We had a gospel study class as always and had our friends Garret jump on, and he always has the most interesting things to say lol but it was good, not a bad day at all. Sucks that its not pday tomorrow though.... my head hurts.
Wednesday: Today was crazy!!! We had so many lessons and put Melissa on date for the 16th of January!! We are so pumped!! Im not going to lie, I am behind on these so I'm not going to go into a whole lot of detail but it was a really good hard working day!
Thursday: Today we did some weekly planning and then went to Walmart and caroled outside for a bit! We finished weekly planning and had a Facebook meeting and then had dinner with Bishop Porters family and they are so nice to host us on Christmas Eve!! They are honestly the best. We came home and had a crazy lesson with some dude who is not super interested just to kinda pass time on lol. Then we watched The Chosen as a mission on zoom to finish off the night, it was great. Merry Christmas!!
