Cave Boating
Wednesday: Today was super cool! Elder Hamilton and I had a lazy morning, but then headed up to Bowling Green for the afternoon!! We did this super cool boat tour of the lost river cave, super awesome! We then went to Texas Roadhouse for the first time on my mission and that was bomb!! We came home and didn't do too much. Elder Baker and I had coordination meeting for the branch on zoom as always. Other than that did some Facebook work and taught a girl named Jazlyn over the phone a little about the Book of Mormon so hopefully we can teach her more in the future!
Thursday: Nothing super interesting today we did a lot of finding, taught a guy named Mayberry about the restoration, then sent him off to the sisters in Gallatin where he lives. Talked to a guy named James a bit about the plan of salvation, he accepted a baptismal invite, but it was super nonchalant, so we sent him off to the elders in Lafayette who cover his area. Talked to a guy named James a bit about the restoration, but his break ended so we had to cut it short, but set up a time to talk again! Then we had an awesome call with Jazlyn again except she missed our call at 8:30 and called us back at 10!!! So we had a late lesson, but we found out she lives in Gallatin as well, so we said we'd get the missionaries near her to give her a Book of Mormon, nothing like finding for other areas lol. One funny thing is some sisters in our district were out street contacting and this lady followed them for 45 mins yelling at them and threatening to call the cops for soliciting, needless to say nothing happened obviously but the sisters kept calling us asking what they should do lol. I wish people weren't so mean sometimes!
Friday: Had weekly planning, drove to Franklin for dinner with the Ramos family, they are awesome. Did some finding, found a few people, nothing crazy today.
Saturday: Today was pretty decent! We tried to go visit one of the families we've been talking to and the mom actually kept the commitment to read the Book of Mormon and she loved it!!! We were so stoked!! Then she told us, their family is ill and they are quarantined for 2 weeks, our one person who kept a commitment, out for the count for the next two weeks. Gosh dang it. Tried to knock and talk to our friend Beth, she wasn't feeling well either, but we talked to her daughter and set up an appointment for all of them on Tuesday, that's sweet!! We had dinner with the Calverts, that was delicious. Then we did some finding, and I messaged this guy named Bobby from my last area, who I've been talking with forever and asked him to call me because things weren't moving much over text, we had an incredible lesson on the phone and now the sisters in Cunningham will be meeting with him, so awesome. So that was a good ending to the day.
Sunday: Had church today, great service, no investigators. Found two separate really cool people Travis and Selena taught them both a few principles and set up return appointments! We had our mission devotional as always and they had Spanish elders teach the restoration in English and that was rough to say the least which was unfortunate because everyone brought investigators to watch and so you can understand why that would be disappointing. We had our friends Frank and Diana tune in and nothing really changed for them after watching so that was a bummer.
Monday: Today we had district council that was super sweet! Ate at this great restaurant in Franklin called the Brickyard. Talked to this one lady named Tiffany and that was super interesting, started out with her saying "oh, are you Mormons? Is this what you do all day? Just call people and tell them lies?" Then 26 minutes later she seriously was thinking about receiving and reading a BoM. Really cool, even that was such a huge step up from where the call started... obviously. Talked to this other guy who was really intelligent, super kind, and complimentary + he even knew of and saw the fruits of members of the church, but still claimed he wasn't interested, we said everything we could, so sad for people like that, I'll never understand. We had an amazing lesson with former named Lisa, she really wants to be baptized and just needs to do a few things to ensure she can continue in activity after the fact, pray she can do those things!! That's all for today!
Tuesday: Had a good day today. It was tough. Lots of finding. We had a lesson fall through. Then We had dinner late so that we could meet up with the Franklin Elders. We threw axes and ate pizza at the best pizza place in town. That was awesome. Came home and now get to have a fun night before pday tomorrow!
