The Destruction of the Wall

Wednesday July 28th: Today was good. We didn't intend to do anything at the beginning because we were really low on miles, but we decided to go to White House last minute! We all hung out as a district a little bit, played some pool, and just said goodbye basically it was kind of sad!! We came home and had a decent night though! Had coordination meeting and did some finding and made a few good contacts with people we are teaching so that was good!

Thursday: Today was great, nothing too crazy. We did a lot of finding and taught a few lessons Then we went and taught Cameron and Andy (the 8 year old member who's getting baptized) the plan of salvation and that went really well! After that we went and did some street contacting and found a super awesome lady named Stacey! We gave her a little overview of the restoration and then set up a return appointment! Should be good! We then had dinner with the Miles and they're awesome! After that we came home and finished the night off with some finding!

Friday: Today we had zone council, weekly planning, and dinner with the Boohers. Nothing else really crazy happened besides this story. We were cold calling and shared a 5 min restoration with this kid who at first sounded old, but we realized later he wasn't, so we asked him to go see if his family was interested! He said his grandma would be, but she wasn't there, so we said okay who else and he said my mom! He went to get her and we were like uh oh because this kinda thing rarely works right? But she gets on the phone and IS SO KIND. We share the whole restoration again and she is crying the whole time. At the end she tells us life has been so hard lately, and they've experienced a death in the family, she was praying to God and just finished when her son walked in... She was reassured God loves her and is aware of her because of that call. Amazing. She gave us a referral, her friend, who is looking for a church as well. It was pretty sweet!

Saturday: Today was pretty typical, except we had a giant picnic as a branch and so that was so awesome!! We had 3 investigators come and there was a ton of food and it was fun to hang out with all the members! Brother Calvert gave us a ride there and back and we helped set up and clean up. The Calverts granddaughter was shooting a water gun at people when the said not to and she kept doing it and brother Calvert is a little intense and so when she spayed these people for like the 3rd time he grabbed the gun and unloaded on her and she did not like that, but i had to write it down to remember it because it was really funny haha!!

Sunday: Today we went to church and sadly we didn't have anyone we were teaching come. We drove back up to Franklin to give Candice a blessing which was cool to be able to do that. The rest of the day was just finding, so nothing too crazy. We did have our zoom call as a mission though and the temple President joined us and gave some cool thoughts! He said recent converts in the middle Tennessee area who attend the temple after baptism have a 70% retention rate, so we as a mission are making a big push to get everyone there after baptism, to do more baptisms!

Monday: once again nothing really crazy! We had dinner with the Miles and then had the inspiration to stop by Stacey's again after we haven't been able to get in touch with her and found her husband Ronnie and got to talk with both of them which was super awesome! Especially since the lesson we were planning on going to canceled while we were talking to them, so we used our time way more effectively because of that revelation to visit them last minute so that was a cool experience! Other than that just finding today!

Tuesday: Today the monster wall Elder Myers and I built with help from some others was forced down by mission leadership, sad day, so enjoy the final pics of that. Then we went to Madison and had interviews with President, and district council. Our district council went really good! Elder Baker and I gave the training and it was definitely one of our better ones! We went and ate Buffalo wild wings after which is also the best. We had a lesson with Miranda again on the phone and that went pretty good! Then we had dinner with the Wade's and that was super fun, they are really cool people. Then we had another revelation experience when all of the sudden I said turn left and Elder Baker did and we went and taught a former named Sheila, and her boss who happens to be living with for a time named Stephen. It was a really solid lesson reviewing the restoration and reading a good chunnk of 3 Nephi, another cool experience! We went home and did a bit more finding to finish off the night! Pday!!
