Zone Conference and Deep Doctrine

 Wednesday July 14th: Today was pretty sweet! We started off the morning golfing and I played decent. Then we went down to Madison and went to the mall, target, and got some food with the district. After that we went to the church and met up with some other missionaries and chatted for awhile, that was fun! We came home and went to dinner at the Miles' home. They are awesome. Directly after that we went to the Sundwall's and taught a lesson to their family focused on their son who is getting ready for baptism! It was a good day! 


Thursday: Today was zone conference and that went well. I was able to see a few friends I haven't seen for awhile and some for the last time on the mission, crazy! Afterwards everybody planned on going to Buffalo Wild Wings. The AP's told us they couldn't go so a bunch of missionaries from our zone got together and we went to 3 different restaurants before finally finding a place to eat together! It was stressful because I was under the impression it was just our district so I was leading/conducting this whole ordeal and we get to the first place and there were like 16 missionaries looking at me for what to do next and I was like I don't know!! hahah It all worked out though! We came home afterwards and just did some finding and stuff to finish out the day! 

Friday: Today was pretty good too! We went to Franklin pretty early on in the day and worked for awhile there! Then at dinner we went with Candice, our recent convert, to a super good Mexican place and that was a fun time! Then after we invited her to come to a lesson with us and she said yes, but before that we had a lesson in the car on the phone with this guy named Chris, (remember the guy that did the beep noises on our first call haha) It went SO GOOD! He was super interested and asked us when he could get a Book of Mormon and was super interested in baptism, so cool. Then we had a really good lesson afterwards with Diana and Frank from the other day and Candice! At dinner we had to say no to sweet tea and so that was the first thing they asked us about. So for the first time in my mission we taught the word of wisdom before anything else lol! We gave a brief restoration before it so we could introduce Joseph Smith and his prophetic calling, but the Spirit was really strong as we talked about the word of wisdom and Candice bore an amazing testimony on it, it was a really cool experience. We read the introduction and Diana committed to come to church! Frank would have but he works, dang! That was all for today though! 

Saturday: Today was funny, everytime we tried to do an activity like weekly planning, comp study, or anything else, someone would call and we'd have a lesson! The first one was Michelle during weekly planning and taught the restoration over video call, this was really cool for me because I've been talking to Michelle for almost a year now, trying to get a call set up or just anything more than texting and it finally worked. She was so nice and we put her on date for August 7th! She lives in another area, but still a great experience! The next one was Jospeh and we read 3 Nephi 11 and that went awesome too! Then Cathy called... she got anti-ed. So sad, I really didn't think someone 76 years old would get into it but she did. She called us with intentions to drop us, but her tune changed by the end of the call as we explained things. We'll have to see what happens with that going forward though. We had an interesting conversation with a guy named Austin over Facebook call. Found another guy named RJ who was decently interested and set up a potential BoM drop with him. Then talked to a younger kid named Micah and set up a BoM drop with him too. Decent day! 

Sunday: Diana and Cameron came to church today so that was awesome! Diana has now been taught the word of wisdom then comes to church and gets D&C 77, Adam-ondi-Ahman, the Godhead, and this cartoon that is when Joseph's mother makes the Prophecy that a good number of that preachers church and his deacon would leave his church and come to ours which is funny for members who understand, but to her she didn't say anything but I'd assume it just looks like we are making a joke of destroying other churches so that was good lol. She liked it though she said so all is well, hopefully. We had a lesson with this Lady named Sue we met on the way home! She was really kind and we set up a lesson for next Saturday! Other than that just a lot of finding today. 

Monday: Today was awesome in the morning, we went to district council and had a great time. Then went to Cracker Barrell and had a fun time with the district there too! After that once again a lot of finding, not very many people answered and those that did weren't interested. I did get a tan during comp study though on the porch! Nice! 

Tuesday: Tanned again on the porch today lol! Taught a guy named Bryan part of the restoration over the phone today and that went good! Then we went up to Sister Mitchell's house and had a new member lesson with Candice on the plan of salvation that was super fun! We had dinner at the Miles which was dope too! Then we found a lady named Gail on the way home on the phone! Should be interesting talking to her next time! PDAY.

Entering the Missionary Training Center

Woke up in the morning to finish packing. We then headed out for lunch at Riverside Country Club with my family, nana, grandpa, and grandma (papa is in Arizona playing in a golf tournament)It was nice to visit at lunch. Crying set in for a few of my siblings as we were getting ready to leave. We stopped at the Provo Temple for a few quick photos then headed toward the MTC. My checkin time was 12:30. It was a quick drop off as there was a line of cars. Maybe that made the goodbye a little easier for me. Now the work begins.  First MTC photo taken by my Aunt Sarah. We had to drive for 3 hours.......

  Wednesday January 6th: Today was honestly way fun. We went and played basketball in the morning with the zls for the first time in forever! It was actually competitive which was the best part! Then the sisters came and we messed around passing the ball to them and letting them try and play for the next 30 mins or so and then we all went to Chick Fil A and then played 9 holes of disc golf which was surprisingly pretty fun! After pday was over we had the most interesting lesson with a guy named Chris. We assigned him to read Alma 30 and he did, like insanely did, he had printed notes and everything and it was so dumb because he completely missed the message because he was caught up in the little details like what a testimony is, freedom of speech in that time, and rights and stuff like that, which would've been fine, except for the fact that he wanted to talk about each of those things for 20 mins and so the lesson went no where... kind of unfortunate but we are going to have one m...

Cave Boating

  Wednesday: Today was super cool! Elder Hamilton and I had a lazy morning, but then headed up to Bowling Green for the afternoon!! We did this super cool boat tour of the lost river cave, super awesome! We then went to Texas Roadhouse for the first time on my mission and that was bomb!! We came home and didn't do too much. Elder Baker and I had coordination meeting for the branch on zoom as always. Other than that did some Facebook work and taught a girl named Jazlyn over the phone a little about the Book of Mormon so hopefully we can teach her more in the future!  Thursday: Nothing super interesting today we did a lot of finding, taught a guy named Mayberry about the restoration, then sent him off to the sisters in Gallatin where he lives. Talked to a guy named James a bit about the plan of salvation, he accepted a baptismal invite, but it was super nonchalant, so we sent him off to the elders in Lafayette who cover his area.
