Church is now harder than ever......
Friday January 1st: Today was New Years, but nothing special. I would however recommend the talk "Remember Lot's Wife" by Elder Holland for y'all to read. It is amazing! We had a good pday, talked to family in the am, went mini golfing and then to chickfila and then just chilled followed by shopping at the end. We made a lot of contacts, literally everyone said no though, so nothing to report there lol! That is all.
Saturday: Today was good!! We did quite a bit of finding and had a few fun lessons come from it! We also went to our friend Chris' house after dinner (not the one who was just baptized, but the one who we helped moved awhile ago if anyone remembers) and we definitely had an interesting time. He is a super cool dude, but he just has so many theories, and wants physical proof. We invited him to read Alma 40 and 30, should be interesting next time!! Then we drove to Ciera's because we hadn't heard from her in forever and she's still interested!!! Its just been tough lately, but we had a good convorsation on the doorstep. A firework went off and we all thought it was a gun shot lolol it was awesome! We came home and had an interesting lesson with a dude who we taught the restoration too and at first he didn't care, but the more we taught the more interested he got which was cool! I had a leadership call to finish off the night and that was it!
Sunday: Today was pretty sweet!! We went to church at 9AM!! Goodness, I'm glad I won't be here all year....church at 9 blows!! But anyways, we got a few people there, not as many as we were hoping but we were happy to see them. I had the privilege of helping Chris recieve the Holy Ghost and become a member of the church!! It was nerve racking to do it in front of everyone but it went well. After church we met this homie. He thought we were secret agents or something and so he wouldn't tell us his name or anything. We were asking because he wasn't a member but he was being super rude. He wouldn't leave us alone and our ward executive secretary noticed and distracted him while we booked it, brother Adams is awesome! We got home and then got a call from someone we haven't heard from in awhile and they were in the parking lot for church at 11:30 (our old church time), because we invited them two weeks ago, but now they decided to show up lol so we went back and attended another ward! It was pretty funny too, because one of the less actives we have been teaching came to that one as well and she wanted to bear her testimony and she made Elder Thacker go up with her hahaha! We had a lesson with this one lady later and we had a member bearing her testimony and the lady hung up OOF we felt so bad (she texted us later and said the connection dropped, but it was so awkward in the moment) We had our gospel study class and then a lesson with Garret, then just a lot of finding, followed by our mission devotional where I gave a little message about finding joy in the work, it was a good day!!
Monday: We had district council and the Zone Leaders came and they will be staying with us until Wednesday afternoon so that'll be fun! We went to Taco Bell and after and had a great time talking. Then came home and had a great lesson with Melissa teaching the plan of salvation! Elder Kirkwood and I tqught her together it went great! We really just did a lot of finding and had 3 restoration lessons come from it but nothing crazy worth mentioning. It was just really fun to have four elders all together and crack jokes and tease eachother all day! We finished off the night playing Settlers of Catan, which I had never played before, but it was a pretty sweet! Definitely time for bed though!!
Tuesday: Today was fun! We had an awesome time with the Zls and taught a great restoration lesson to our friend David. We did a lot of finding and found a couple new people near the end of the night! We got Wendy's for dinner too which was super good lol. The Zls brought the couch up from downstairs and are sleeping in our room so it should be a fun time. Gnight!
