Knocked at the Wrong Time



 Wednesday December 2nd: Ah pday, took a good nap in the morning then talked to fam for a bit. We went to Walmart and got what we needed, got all the sisters doughnuts and then came home and talked to family again untill the day was over. We went to the church and found for a bit but I had a raging headache so we came home and I got ibuprofen and then we found again until the day was done. Not too shabby of a day but nothing super crazy! 


Thursday: Today was super busy! We had service in the morning with Brother Border and we put together a bunk bed for his boys, it took a lot longer than expected lol luckily our other service project was canceled. We finished around noon and so he made us lunch and then we headed out. He gave us an old coffee table too! It makes our apartment look way less unfurnished, it's awesome! We came home and in the afternoon we made a lot of contacts and did a lot of finding! We had a lesson with a member family after dinner over zoom and that went well. Later we went and visited Ciera and her family and had a really good conversation on the porch, we came home and did some cold calling and had some good lessons come out of it! It was a good day! 

Friday: Today was pretty sweet too! We had a lesson with a guy on Facebook I found earlier this week at the church with Sister Wadsworth and it went pretty well! He was really open and so definitely some potential! We came home after and watched an MTC devotional, then we went to Caleb's house and he gave us a little tour and fed us lunch and then we headed home to do our weekly planning. Afterwards we headed to a new family that was referred to us by some sisters in a different area. They seemed pretty cool and will be coming to church with us this sunday, hopefully! We came home had dinner and then made some Facebook posts and invites and then had a zone call! That wrapped up the day, super busy one! 

Saturday: Today was pretty good we did a bunch a Facebook work in the morning and then had lunch. We made a lot of contacts and had a good comp study followed by cold calling until dinner. Katie, our recent convert, brought us Panda!! Later we went out to go knock on some people the bishopric has no clue about, all 5 we knocked on no longer live there... one of them a couple came out of the bedroom door upstairs and they looked at us super confused, he came downstairs and we asked him if he was so and so and he said he wasn't so we tried to make something out of nothing and he was like nah man I'm actually celebrating my wife's birthday with her upstairs right now. I felt way bad about that one lolol We came home and did some more cold calling and Facebook and then I called all the companionships in the district to end off the night! Not too bad of a day. 

Sunday: Today at church was a huge highlight for me. The spirit was just so strong I was literally smiling, under my mask, the entire time. I was just watching everyone taking the sacrament and the little kids are always so funny. We had two families there and one of them has 3 little kids and it was so cute to see them all take it like they've done it all their life even though this is only their second time! Then I got up and bore my testimony which I haven't done in years! Then Katie got up and bore hers!! It was so cool! I was beyond surprised and then just excited!! The rest of the day wasn't too special we had a gospel study class and the Christmas devotional which was super sweet but nothing much else! Just a lot of finding! Church was hype though! 

Monday: Today wasn't too bad! We got to go to district council in the morning and then right after we went and gave some people the Sisters are teaching blessings and that was sweet! We came home and really the rest of the day just did a ton of finding, Facebook, random calling, etc. We had a couple funny calls but nothing out of the ordinary, just another day! Sorry for the lame entry! 

Tuesday: This morning we went and helped a family move into their home for a few hours and some other members of the ward were there and it was fun talking to them! Later we came home and got ready for the day, had lunch and did personal study! We made a lot of contacts and invitations in the afternoon then had a gospel study class as well as more finding at night! It was good! Pday!!

Entering the Missionary Training Center

Woke up in the morning to finish packing. We then headed out for lunch at Riverside Country Club with my family, nana, grandpa, and grandma (papa is in Arizona playing in a golf tournament)It was nice to visit at lunch. Crying set in for a few of my siblings as we were getting ready to leave. We stopped at the Provo Temple for a few quick photos then headed toward the MTC. My checkin time was 12:30. It was a quick drop off as there was a line of cars. Maybe that made the goodbye a little easier for me. Now the work begins.  First MTC photo taken by my Aunt Sarah. We had to drive for 3 hours.......

  Wednesday January 6th: Today was honestly way fun. We went and played basketball in the morning with the zls for the first time in forever! It was actually competitive which was the best part! Then the sisters came and we messed around passing the ball to them and letting them try and play for the next 30 mins or so and then we all went to Chick Fil A and then played 9 holes of disc golf which was surprisingly pretty fun! After pday was over we had the most interesting lesson with a guy named Chris. We assigned him to read Alma 30 and he did, like insanely did, he had printed notes and everything and it was so dumb because he completely missed the message because he was caught up in the little details like what a testimony is, freedom of speech in that time, and rights and stuff like that, which would've been fine, except for the fact that he wanted to talk about each of those things for 20 mins and so the lesson went no where... kind of unfortunate but we are going to have one m...

Cave Boating

  Wednesday: Today was super cool! Elder Hamilton and I had a lazy morning, but then headed up to Bowling Green for the afternoon!! We did this super cool boat tour of the lost river cave, super awesome! We then went to Texas Roadhouse for the first time on my mission and that was bomb!! We came home and didn't do too much. Elder Baker and I had coordination meeting for the branch on zoom as always. Other than that did some Facebook work and taught a girl named Jazlyn over the phone a little about the Book of Mormon so hopefully we can teach her more in the future!  Thursday: Nothing super interesting today we did a lot of finding, taught a guy named Mayberry about the restoration, then sent him off to the sisters in Gallatin where he lives. Talked to a guy named James a bit about the plan of salvation, he accepted a baptismal invite, but it was super nonchalant, so we sent him off to the elders in Lafayette who cover his area.
