Meals at members homes?

Wednesday, November 4th: Today was sweet! We had Huddle House for breakfast and ate way too much. Then went to Walmart. We have literally been needing food since last Thursday so I bought a ton of stuff. We came home, talked to family, then went and played card games with the Sisters. Later we came home and talked to family again. After pday was over we went and got our car washed for zone conference tomorrow, then had a great lesson with Brother Poole from the ward, and other than that just found/invited a ton of people until bed. Not a bad pday, still goes too fast though...

Thursday: Today was zone conference it was so good! President Weaver gave an awesome talk about the blessings of living the mission standards and what it can bring. He had everyone share miracles they've seen in the work and then gave some announcements... most notable WE CAN EAT AT MEMBER HOMES AGAIN!!! Then President Hissong gave a great talk on member work and how we as missionaires have kind of "given up" on members and have been doing it all ourselves and our numbers have been fantastic, but he strongly encouraged us to not forget members, keep the new converts strong, and get the best of both worlds! Sister Weaver finished it off with a great Book of Mormon training she picked 3 random missionaries, called them up and asked a question to each missionary 3 times. Do you love Jesus Christ? Seek ye first the kingdom of God (3x) then the next missionary got asked, "Do you love Jesus Christ? Look unto me in every thought, doubt not fear not" (3x) The last was Do you love Jesus Christ? When thou art converted, strengthen thy bretheren" it was really spiritual and the room was dead silent. They finished it off by showing a clip from The Chosen where Jesus heals the leper, I might have shed a tear or two....we had thanksgiving lunch after, then we headed home!! We did some studies then went right to our first member dinner with Brother Merrill. Man was that dinner hour better than sitting alone in our apartment! We went to Garret's after and taught him about the atonement per his request, it was a pretty good lesson and he said he'd be at church this Sunday! We did more invites to finish off the night without much success but one lady called back and wants to hear more about the Book of Mormon tomorrow, it was awesome! Sorry this was a huge entry but zone conference is only once a transfer so I had to do it. It was amazing!

Friday: We had a good lesson with Don this morning about the plan of salvation. He really enjoyed it, especially the 3 kingdoms. We had to be extremely bold that we were the only true church and about how his baptism could only be sealed in heaven and on earth by the proper authority and he was iffy on all that. He said that's what every church says but we told him all the reasons we have to prove that the Book of Mormon, priesthood authority, etc. and he agreed to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. Then he walked outside after the lesson and the Sisters pulled up and started talking to him and apparently he told them he still wants to start his own church... so clearly we have some more work to do. We had a good afternoon and night of finding, but that's pretty much it! We had a good invitation here and there but nothing special enough to report on YET.

Saturday: Dang, today was crazy!! We got a referral from some Nashville Elders the other day and we were able to go get her a Book of Mormon and invite her to church. She is definitely younger and was with her friends but she was super cool and into it so hopefully she comes to church and that goes well! We started weekly planning after lunch. Later in the day we got a self referral and the number didn't work so we dropped by and she said it was a mistake or whatever but we just kept talking and actually got to share the restoration! It went awesome and she said she would read and pray about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith! Then we headed directly from there to another lesson with another referral from some other missionaires and we brought Katie, our recent convert! We taught the restoration and Katie bore testimony and the spirit was so strong. We put her on date for the 12th of December, lots of work but lots of potential! We came home finished weekly planning then made some contacts until the end of the day! Today was sweet! Definitely gave us some work to do for the future!!

Sunday: Today was so awesome, one of the best days in the last couple transfers. The traveling Elders stayed the night at our place and then worked with us all day today and one of them is Elder Williamsen, my first zone leader. I've always looked up to him a ton so to work with him again was super fun! We had 3 people at church today!! Garret, Don, and his grandson Jaylen. It was sweet! We participared in ward council and the Sunday school president was getting a little heated and at one point he yelled "c'mon its not rocket surgery" and that gave everyone a good laugh. We helped the Sisters film a video after that and then came home and ate lunch. We got to sit in on the gospel study class as always and then did some finding for the rest of the night and I cold called into 2 people who gave me the chance to teach a principle and set up a time for tomorrow so hopefully they follow through with that!! The traveling Elders headed out and that was pretty sad but we got to watch the mission devotional afterwards so that was good, definitely a great day.

Monday: Today was great too! We had district council this morning which went great! Then we had a good lunch from sonic and an awesome comp study with some of the Sisters in the district again! We made some contacts then threw the baseball around and then went and knocked on a less active and it went really well and they invited  to dinner this Sunday!! We headed out to Don's because we couldn't get ahold of him on the phone and had a lesson at his house. It was one of the most spiritual lessons I've had in awhile. We planned on teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, but the spirit directed otherwise and we ended up strictly focusing on the commitment of baptism he was planning on making this upcoming Saturday, as we suspected he didn't realize the impact/commitment we were expecting him to have, but it was good because we now know where he is at!! We shared the Ask of God clip and invited him to pray about all the things we talked about and he said he would do it. We come home and grinded cold calls and had one lesson come from it! Then I had a leadership call and we were off to bed!

Tuesday: Today wasn't too bad! Not much to report on though. We had a couple cold call lessons in the morning and then in the afternoon we had fall cleaning and deep cleaned the house for two hours. Other than that, not much else to report on. We just made a ton of invitations and had our gospel study class as always! Excited for pday! Night!!
