Gotta Love Bashers
Wednesday October 7th: Today was a sweet pday! We woke up and hit an early tee time at the golf course and played 18 holes! I didnt play super well considering I haven't played for a year (lol excuses I know) but it was super fun just to be out on a course regardless! After we talked to family and sent out emails until 6! We followed that with some Facebook work and ended the night with Katie. We did a lesson and read the Book of Mormon. We decieded to send out a few more invitations before bed. It was definitely one of the better pdays I've had in this area forsure!
Thursday: Today wasn't too bad! We had a lesson at 9:30 with a guy named Steven! It went super great teaching the first half of the restoration and so we set up a return appointment for Sunday, he's awesome! Then we did some inviting for the rest of the morning. In the afternoon we went and helped a family move. We then did some inviting until dinner. We decided to do sushi, it was pretty good! That evening we had a lesson with Garrett again and that dude is a character let me tell you ha! We always have a great time talking with him and hearing what he has to say but always keeping it spiritual as well! That pretty much wraps up Thursday!
Friday: Today started off by us getting doorbell ditched by the fire department... lol super wack haha! They pulled up sirens a blazin'! They knocked and rang our doorbell but by the time we opened the door they dipped to the apartments behind ours haha! They must've looked at the address wrong... embarrassing for them! Other than that we had a pretty basic day. Did a lot of weekly planning, inviting, and then we went and knocked on a couple "members" the ward hasn't seen in awhile... one had moved so that was an awkward encounter;) The other one now goes to a different church, and the 3rd one said we can potentially share some of the lessons with them and her husband is a somewhat recent convert as of 14 years ago lol I guess not that recent... but she isn't baptized and she sounded like 10% interested, so POTENTIAL hahaha hopefully something comes from it. That was basically our day though!
Saturday: Today was good. We invited people in the morning and had good comp study in the afternoon. Had a call that lasted way to long with a guy that wanted to bash so badly, I asked him if he was religious and he said, "Well that depends what do you mean" which is a fair question, so I clarified and said, "Do you attend a church regularly ?" He said "Well what is a "church"? And so that gives you an idea of how he was, just twisting every single thing and not being satisfied with any answers and just wanting to argue... on top of that he has texted us like 10 times since the call ended and is extremely annoying, we included him in our prayers tonight. Then we had a meeting with the Sisters we are splitting the ward with, and it went really well. They added a new sister this transfer. She knows a lot about how to successfully share a ward so I'm definitely excited to see the ideas she has and how we can help make this ward great! Other than that it was a pretty basic day. I am looking forward to chruch tomorrow!
Sunday: Church was good! Katie came and Elder Packer went to bless the sacrament. Katie and I were able to visit until the meeting started. Afterwards we did some inviting, and then we had a lesson with Steven again! We taught the second half of the restoration and it went really well! He was definitely skeptical which is understandable for so much new information, but he said he would pray about it! Later in the day we were able to drive to his house and drop off a Book of Mormon so he could know what he was praying about! It went pretty good as well! We grinded out invitation again until the mission devotional which was really good as well. We talked about Alma 17 and making the most of our missions and some of the recent rm's sent in videos of why their mission was amazing and it was good to see some old faces again! It was a great day!
Monday: Today was really good. We woke up and had a pretty average morning and then during our break we were throwing the baseball around and one of our neighbors came up and introduced himself along with asking if we could put his grills on our porch because his landlord was getting mad at him haha! He gave us some of his wife's homemade bread after and was a really nice guy! We had some really good facebook lessons just teaching a few principles to newly interested people and then had an awesome lesson with Katie!! We talked about tithing, fasting, and fast offerings and the spirit was so strong. We had a member there as well her name is Sister Wadsworth and she was so awesome and helped a ton! Then to finish off the night I had a leadership call and I finally am starting to feel like I know what I'm doing as district leader and it gets better and better every week! :))
Tues: We went to district council today and had interviews with President it was super sweet! We went to a cookout after and then Katie had her baptismal interview with one of the zone leaders and she PASSED!!! We are so pumped for this Saturday!!! We invited a lot of people the rest of the day. Later we had a gospel study class and then invited again until bed. Definitely ready for pday haha night!
Not in the best shape for a golf course but it sure felt good to be out!
Home cooked meal prepared by Elder Packer and myself. Now don't get too excited...Elder Packer's mom was kind enough to send us some packaged meals and all we have to do is prepare it, season it, and cook it. Oh and eat it;)
