Exchanges/electric fences/baptism/8 months/eventful week!!

Wednesday October 14th: Today was sweet! We went to Walmart in the morning and picked up all we needed and then came home and chilled. We talked to family for bit and sent out emails. Then we headed to a cornmaze with the district and the zone leaders and it was kind of a waste of 5 bucks haha but the Sisters wanted to go so you do whatcha gotta do I guess! Afterwards we went to the Sisters and had smores and just talked and we had a pretty great time. Elder Kholer (one of the zone leaders) and I then headed down to Hopkinsville once again and worked the rest of the night here. I'll be on exchanges with him until tomorrow and it should be good. He is a cool dude. Cya tomorrow!

Thursday: Today was super good! We went to give a lesson off a busy road at a coffee place. It was pretty loud but the guy that the zone leaders have been teaching was still able to get his answers and confirmed that there is truth in the Book of Mormon. It was a great conversation! We talked a to couple more people just while driving around and then headed to a Japanese buffet and that was interesting lol We had a really good comp study and just seemed to have a great time overall. Then Elder Packer and Elder Plumb came back. Elder Packer and I drove home and then we had a super great lesson with Katie going over all the plans for Saturday. She is so pumped and it was such a spiritual lesson! We had the Sisters there to help us and they said it was amazing as well! We had a correlation meeting then a Facebook meeting and that wrapped up the day, not too bad for sure!

Friday: Today was really super stressful to be honest. We had weekly planning and then comp study which lasted the majority of the day. Then we installed a TIWI on our car in the middle of it all. After we did all that we did some finding and had dinner. We made some really good steaks with onions and that was great. We then traveled way out to the boonies of our area and knocked a self referral that never got back to our texts/calls, in short she didn't want to talk to us haha. However, we then went to another referral who was Spanish speaking and Elder Packer wanted to try his Spanish with her. It didnt end up going super well but she was hands down the nicest lady and her son spoke English so he was able to translate. She ended up just asking for Spanish speakers mid way through though and we told her we could definitely hook her up with that! We headed home and saw a dope sign we had to get a picture with! It was on private property though, so we had to crawl through the fence and Elder Packer grabbed the electric cattle fence and got a little bit of energy pumping through him hahaha it was way funny. We came home had a zone call and then we had to get our agenda sent in for district council on monday and then hurry and double check if we have everything for Katie's baptism. I'm praying we don't forget anything!! That was it though, by the amount of stuff I wrote you can see why today was more stressful than most haha.

Saturday: KATIE'S BAPTISM!!! Oh my goodness  it was so awesome!!! Everything went perfec! It was such an amazing day. Katie was so incredibly happy and you could see tears come to her eyes multiple times, it was truly a special, special day for her and for us. I got the opportunity to baptize her and Elder Packer did the baptism by fire afterwards. The ward was so good and her fellowshipper Sister Wadsworth even got her a present. That was so sweet and thoughtful of her. We went to lunch after with Katie and 2 of her friends that she brought and that was fun too! Later in day we taught a guy named Nelson. I might have mentioned him a few weeks back and we havent been able to get ahold of him since. Well, he answered today and we had an amazing restoration lesson. Elder Packer and I talked after and agreed it was probably the best lesson we have taught together yet! We actually gave him a baptismal date but he is in another area so if he does get baptized I will let yall know! Other than those things we just did some finding and that went well too! Today was great!!

Sunday: Today was alright, nothing too special. Had a good gospel study class and then just did finding the whole day! Found a couple interested people though so that's hype! Had a good mission devotional, but not much else!

Mon: Had a great district council this morning! Went to Wendy's and to a park after and that was fun! Came home and did a lot of finding! We went to Walmart and looked around for awhile. I had something in the pharmacy being filled. You know you need to get out more when hanging at Walmart is fun;) We came home did more finding and called an inactive member who apparently got into a mega anti, and it was really sad, I talked to her for 30 mins asking questions on questions. She had to stop and think a couple times but then she would just go back to "the didn't tell me that in the 80's "anti" isn't real it's just history!!" We prayed for her and hope she has a change of heart. I really tried to be nice but it was a contentious call, and the spirit was completely missing afterwards and I was hurtin pretty bad... I said a prayer and the next guy to answer was such a nice dude. He knows a bit about the Church and we bonded about the outdoors. He said how cool he thought it was that I was serving a two year mission and said he admires my dedication. It was just a huge pick me up and definitely an answer to my recent prayer. A little later I had a leadership call and that went well and finished up the night!

Tuesday: Today was pretty sweet. We did some cold calls in the morning and had two lessons where we just read the Book of Mormon with some guys that are definitely characters. Found some new people from cold calls and Facebook and then played some basketball. Found some new monster flavors that were BANGIN! Had a good gospel study class and found out I need to study more about eternal marriage/families! I love when people ask me questions I don't know! Even though I get flustered and panic in the moment. It helps me be prepared for next time and gives me opportunity to grow. Our trials (if you consider that a trial) are blessings in disguise that bring us so much growth! Today was good, the week was good, excited for another. Send me a message if we havent talked in a bit!! Chances are if you are reading this I miss ya! 8 months down 16 to go! Love yall bye!
