I finally knocked on a door as a missionary

Wednesay July 29th: Today was a pretty good pday. We woke up and got our shopping done and then Elder Iverson's friend from back home is visiting family in TN so we met up with them and and went to lunch at Longhorn steakhouse and it was dang good. His dad paid for it too which was super nice of him! We brought a change of clothes with us so that we could head to the pavilion after and play games like we did last week. We met up with some other missionaries and had a great time. We came home got changed and made contacts and had a good ward coordination meeting! Not a bad day, but as always looking forward to the next one haha! 

Thur: Today we woke up had a normal routine as always then had a good companion study. We took an evaluation in the training book and it was cool to see where I think I could improve. After lunch we went to the food bank again and did a shift. We came home and got some last pics with Elder Avanzo. He would've gone home in October but he has some things he needs to take care of so he is leaving now :(( His mom has stage 4 cancer and may not make it until October:( We then went to dinner with the Warren's at cracker barrel and it was great! The Warren's were so nice and it was awesome to talk with them! We came home and had a lesson with Tim about faith, God's love for us, and how the gospel can bless us and our families and it went pretty good! We made contacts until bed afterwards and that wrapped things up! 

Fri: Today was a pretty good day, another day however of not much to write about haha. We had our weekly planning and then we had a good comp study and made some contacts and headed to David's for dinner. His friend Richard who has lived with him pretty much his whole life cooked us ribs and they were dang good! We burned Elder Elder Iverson's shirt for his 1 year mark and that was fun! We came home made more contacts and then the Murfreesboro Elders came to get me and Elded Klingler for exchanges tomorrow, we drove home with Elder Wilson driving and Holy fetch my stress levels were through the roof! It was pouring rain and you could tell he was uncomfortable and nervous which led to me being 5x as neverous and uncomfortable as he was hahaha. But we lived, hopefully it will be a good day tomorrow with Elder Cox in the 'boro! 

Sat: Today was honestly pretty sweet! We woke up and played pickle ball for workout time and then did the rest of the morning routine. We made facebook contacts all morning which wasn't too bad actually! Then we had lunch and afterwards we went to their apartments internet lounge and got hot chocolate and did comp study, made some more contacts then headed out to knock on a couple formers doors nearby...crazy to acutally knock on a door! We only had one answer but she seemed nice and we got her number which was sweet because all we had before was her address! We stopped by the bishops for him to sign some baptismal forms. Elder Cox had and I got to meet him and we talked about the geography of the Book of Mormon lol he was a cool guy. Then we came home and made some more contacts at the internet lounge and then had an exchange review and headed home. Nothing too crazy but it was a good day! 

Sun: Today wasn't bad! We had comp study in the morning and then we did a ton of finding as well throughout the whole day. We had a lesson with Sister Golden and talked about the restoration and how she can know if she is truly on the right track and how this is Jesus Christ's true church and if you live it, it will bring so much happiness. We talked about the importance of a testimony as well and set some goals with her! Afterwards we just had more contacts nothing special haha. Talking to family today was good though:) 

Mon: Today was pretty sweet! We had district council in the morning and is always a good time just talking with the district about who they are teaching and hearing insights from others and all that stuff. We went to Arby's after and then went to the park to eat with everyone! Elder Thompson and I talked a lot about when we think the second coming is coming and why haha. We went back to the chruch for our comp study and then made contacts during the rest or the afternoon. We had dinner and Elder Klingler and I played chess then we went to 3 members houses and got to talk to them and get to know them better which was awesome! That was the majority of our night but we came home and attempted a lesson with this guy but he was getting in his car and driving to the store and shopping all while he was trying to listen so the spirit wasnt really there so we just ended it early... we cold called until the day was over then played some more chess haha. Not too bad of day.

Tues: Today was good! Had a good district call and comp study in the morning then we made a good amount of contacts all afternoon! Then we had a zone Facebook page meeting followed by us going to meet up with a guy named Matthew. He was baptized awhile back and he's not from here but he is visiting and the missionaires in his area asked us to try and keep him on track and so we got him a Come Follow Me, and that was pretty good. We had dinner then made a lot more contacts and finished off the night by teaching a guy named William and we got through about a 1/3 of the lesson and he said he had too go which was a bummer, but we set up a time to call back so hopefully next time goes better! We had 5 lessons fall through today which was rough, but just gotta focus on the positive, the grind never stops! Esgo!

Entering the Missionary Training Center

Woke up in the morning to finish packing. We then headed out for lunch at Riverside Country Club with my family, nana, grandpa, and grandma (papa is in Arizona playing in a golf tournament)It was nice to visit at lunch. Crying set in for a few of my siblings as we were getting ready to leave. We stopped at the Provo Temple for a few quick photos then headed toward the MTC. My checkin time was 12:30. It was a quick drop off as there was a line of cars. Maybe that made the goodbye a little easier for me. Now the work begins.  First MTC photo taken by my Aunt Sarah. We had to drive for 3 hours.......

  Wednesday January 6th: Today was honestly way fun. We went and played basketball in the morning with the zls for the first time in forever! It was actually competitive which was the best part! Then the sisters came and we messed around passing the ball to them and letting them try and play for the next 30 mins or so and then we all went to Chick Fil A and then played 9 holes of disc golf which was surprisingly pretty fun! After pday was over we had the most interesting lesson with a guy named Chris. We assigned him to read Alma 30 and he did, like insanely did, he had printed notes and everything and it was so dumb because he completely missed the message because he was caught up in the little details like what a testimony is, freedom of speech in that time, and rights and stuff like that, which would've been fine, except for the fact that he wanted to talk about each of those things for 20 mins and so the lesson went no where... kind of unfortunate but we are going to have one m...

Cave Boating

  Wednesday: Today was super cool! Elder Hamilton and I had a lazy morning, but then headed up to Bowling Green for the afternoon!! We did this super cool boat tour of the lost river cave, super awesome! We then went to Texas Roadhouse for the first time on my mission and that was bomb!! We came home and didn't do too much. Elder Baker and I had coordination meeting for the branch on zoom as always. Other than that did some Facebook work and taught a girl named Jazlyn over the phone a little about the Book of Mormon so hopefully we can teach her more in the future!  Thursday: Nothing super interesting today we did a lot of finding, taught a guy named Mayberry about the restoration, then sent him off to the sisters in Gallatin where he lives. Talked to a guy named James a bit about the plan of salvation, he accepted a baptismal invite, but it was super nonchalant, so we sent him off to the elders in Lafayette who cover his area.
