My Birthday Is This Sunday!!
Wednesday April 1st: Slept in just a tad today and that was sweeeet! Had a great time shopping and I bought a tv for conference this weekend since we are not able to go to members homes to watch it due to the virus. Staring at my phone for all those hours seemed quite eye straining. I wanted to make the best out of a bad situation and make things fun this weekend, and I didn't think of this as being disobedient. I wasn't going to open it until Saturday morning and planned to box it up Sunday afternoon and take it back on Wednesday. Had a great talk with my fam and man it is so good talking to them twice a week right now!! Had a good ward coordination meeting over a conference call, however it is so weird, the ward leaders here are basically discouraging baptisms at this time. Everytime we tell them we have an upcoming date they bring up all the points they can on why we should wait and not do it. I would have never expected anyone to do that. Their concerns are valid, don't get me wrong, it just seems that they have no faith in the new members to stay strong during this hard time, but we do. On top of that, we aren't gonna push people's dates back when we have no idea how long it will be until this virus passes, the work of the Lord will go on! Then we had an awesome lesson with Barbara and set up her family history account!! We should all do better with family history. It is amazing! Then we came home and I got a surprise call from the zone leaders that they had talked to the President and I needed to return the tv, which was weird cuz I hadn't told anyone about the tv. I looked at my companion and asked did you tell them? and with 0 regret he says I did... he didn't say a word to me when I bought it, he never said it was against the rules. The zone leaders told me they had to ask the president cuz they weren't even sure if it was something I couldn't do for conference. My comp went completely behind my back and told on me as if I was being a rule breaker. I have been so obedient so it didn't sit well with me. So pray that my heart can be softened cuz I'm praying all I can and I am still very upset and disappointed. Also pray my Mission President will still have faith and confidence in me because I am worried he no longer will after this stupid incident that I didn't even think was a big deal. Gonna sleep it off, night.
Thurs: Today was a good day! Had a good morning and all credit to Heavenly Father because I was able to have little to no contention with my companion today, my heart was softened and I will tell you right now that would not have happened back home, I would have been mad for a long time. My President also emailed me and let me know we are good and that he completely understands my reasoning and it is not a big deal and that he still has faith in me, that was the biggest relief. Had a few calls in the morning and one with Sister Golden and got to share our message of hope. She loved it and it was sweet. Then we went and returned then tv and the Spanish elders that gave us a ride thought the idea of the tv was sweet too lol. Then had an awesome last couple lessons for the day, and had exchanges, I'm with elder Murphy for the night and day tomorrow, he's awesome too. Night
Fri: Today was shweet! We had some awesome calls! Elder Murphy made an awesome lunch, chili with these noodles we hadn't used yet and seasoned with the best seasoning around "Slap your mama". Then we had a few lessons and they went super well too! One guy named Brother White has been inactive for a long time, but we called and he had already been planning on coming back to church and turning his life around so we didn't do that necessarily, but we called at "the perfect time" and I think we reassured him he's making the right decision and he's stoked for conference this weekend! We taught another lesson to Marshelly and her mom and sister, it was the 10 commandments and we taught her the hand signals and she was able to remember them and said she will practice more and even tell her friends at school when she can go back!! It was a good day! G'night.
Sat: Conference Day!! It was awesome, wow! I'm still waiting for President Nelson's unique announcement he mentioned this morning! But I loved all the talks and took notes too! First time I've really intently watched conference in a long time! Sorry mom and dad lol! But hey I'm doing good now :) Had some good meals and honestly not much else happened! 6 hours of conference really takes up your Saturday I've found out! Sleep, then do it all again tomorrow!
Sun: Conference day round 2! Another good one! We also dropped off a come follow me to a member, and set up a lesson this week with her. Then we dropped off a Bible to a man who got our number from someone, so that was sweet! Conference was so good! More good notes and awesome new temples announcement and new proclomcation! Got to talk to my family and grandparents it was awesome!! I love them! Got my family history set up too thanks to my grandparents! My comp did a good portion of my puzzle so that was sweet too! Nighttime yay!
Mon: Woke up, got ready, had a good personal study. Made some calls and texts, had an awesome lesson with a nonmember over the phone! She's been reading the Book of Mormon, but kept saying it's just the same stories as the Bible told differently. We tried to explain the Book of Mormon furthers our knowledge, it expands it, and although it is similar and teaches a lot of the same principles it's not the same. It kinda worked I think, she's awesome though. Did some family history, played ball, and talked to David for a while, because we had to drop off Barbara's baptismal forms! Had a good lesson with another Sister and then Barbara! Had a mission wide call about social media, and I'm kinda bummed to be completely honest. There is sooo many restrictions and guidelines it is hard for me to see why they even let us use the app in the first place... hopefully God can help me understand. Bed
Tues: Not much went on today. I finished my puzzle that was sweet! Thanks again Cook family! I'm still staying caught up in my progression to finish the Book of Mormon. Played some more basketball and had a good family history lesson with David and got him a name printed off! SO EXCITED to go when it opens!!! I got my pillow from home sent to me it smells like my home and I am gonna sleep like a baby tonight. Excited for pday tomorrow, if you've read this far in my weekly please email me I love you and I miss you!!
